
Project Overview



- To develop policies and procedures grounded in evidence-based practices to support the department’s effort to using force and arrest as a last resort when responding to mental health related calls for service
- To reduce the prevalence of mental health related calls for service through a coordinated case management intervention consisting of sworn police officers and licensed clinicians
- To utilize criminogenic and violence risk assessments to identify and prioritize treatment and case management services for individuals at risk for committing future crimes
- To provide treatment recommendations and referrals to restore previous levels of functioning and prevent subsequent calls for service
- To provide case management services to ensure stabilization and to modify treatment plans as needed
