Page/Rice Camera Initiative
We collaborated with the Baton Rouge Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Foundation to write a proposal for federal funding to offer support to homeowners and businesses in high crime areas of Baton Rouge. The resulting project is a federally funded initiative wherein at least 22 crime cameras will be provided at no cost to homeowners and businesses in areas most affected by violent crime. Veterans Treatment Court
Evaluation of a federally funded program to establish a Veterans Treatment Court in East Baton Rouge Parish. The VTC will are designed to provide opportunities for justice-involved veterans to receive treatment for substance abuse and/or mental health diagnoses, which are often a result of their service to this country. Baton Rouge Mental Health Response Team
We are working with the Baton Rouge Police Department and Capital Area Human Services to evaluate a $750k award from the BJA Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program. Funding will be used to deploy a a police officer-social worker team tasked with providing case management services to individuals with high levels of repeat mental health related calls for service. Police Departments in Baton Rouge, LA, Natchez, MS, and Biloxi MS were each awarded $150,000 to enhance the technological infrastructure in their respective jurisdictions. More information soon →
